De laatste tijd passeert die Pianist Envy mix van Chilly Gonzales regelmatig eens op de ipod. Een extreem vette en extreem grappige mixtape door mister Gonzales. Mocht je de mixtape nog niet gehoord hebben, Gonzales speelt hiphop op piano en plakt daar wat samples en quotes tussen. Enfin, download hem eens.
Eén van de samples die hij gebruikt is de hilarische monoloog die Rocky aan zijn zoon geeft. Terwijl ik aan het luisteren was dacht ik zo met mezelf een weddenschap aan te gaan. Op het moment dat onze soon-to-be-born zoon vol in zijn puberteit zit, krijgt hij die monoloog van mij te horen. De komende 14 jaar gebruik ik om te oefenen om niet in de lach te schieten (en die you’re better than that even overtuigend te kunnen brengen).

Popie Jopie heeft een brief aan de katholieken van Ierland geschreven. Ierland één van die landen waar mijnheer pastoor niet van de kindjes kon blijven. In de brief zit een paragraaf To priests and religious who have abused children, die eindigt met de volgende wijze woorden:
Openly acknowledge your guilt, submit yourselves to the demands of justice, but do not despair of God’s mercy.
Een vies clubke daar in Rome.

Onlangs kwam ik de volgende quote tegen van Michael Jackson. Zo een triestige uitspraak, hoewel het ook wel iets poëtisch, dramatisch heeft…
